Job Description

Roscoe Village state-of-the-art child care center is immediately seeking early childhood teachers for our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten classrooms. We offer a great, positive work environment, competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Developing current lesson plans based on school guidelines and monthly themes.
  • Meeting the individual needs of the children by interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
  • Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
  • Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
  • Creating a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning
  • Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
  • Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
  • Building teamwork
  • Using assessment tools and observations to track individual child development.
  • Committing to continuing education.
  • Ensuring compliance with our center standards

Preferred Credentials

  • Two years or more of teaching or supervising experience in a similar position.

Minimum Requirements 

Lead Teacher Requirements: Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of completed credits from an accredited college or university.  Six semester (or 9 quarter hours) must be from courses directly related to child care and/or child development.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive.
