Summer at Newport is going great! We’ve welcomed a number of new students and teachers, and the children have had the opportunity to visit the playground, learn about a variety of summer topics, take part in special summer events like Family Sports Night, and even participate in Water Wednesdays at Newport’s own park!

Water Wednesdays

Every Wednesday, weather-permitting, the Newport park is transformed into a mini-waterpark, complete with swimming pools and sprinklers. The kids have a blast splashing around in their swimsuits and running through the sprinklers, and it’s a great way to beat the heat! We’ve also added two new play structures to our park, which have become instant favorites of our children during outdoor time.

Summer Events

On July 18th, parents, children, and teachers gathered in Newport’s park for Family Sports Night, an evening of fun, games, and sports-themed prizes. Kids were given the chance to take part in soccer, basketball, football, and baseball mini-games, and it quickly became apparent that we have quite a few future sports stars in our student body here at Newport!

Looking Ahead

Newport is always growing and expanding, and as such, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming a number of new teachers and students over the course of the summer. (For more on our new teachers, visit the About – Meet Our Teachers page on our website!) Our fall school year will be starting soon, and as of July 31st, a new classroom will be opening to cater to older two-year-olds and younger threes. With the help of teachers new and old, we look forward to closing out the summer with as much fun and learning as possible, and transitioning into a wonderful new school year. We hope it’ll be even better than the first!
